So far, derivative, dowdy post-war dullness, poorly executed and lacking an overall philosophy or context. Obviously my criticism is a vast over-simplification and there will be good pieces, especially from the best designers, but will any of it have any lasting value - I can’t clearly remember a single thing from last year’s NYFW yet the London/Paris/Milan weeks have collections and items which my poor addled brain can bring to mind with amazing clarity.

Creatures of the Wind is a student ‘s mish mash. Cynthia Rowley has some of the most poorly executed clothes I’ve ever seen (just badly made), Chadwick Bell manages to express a particular style and his pencil thin Barbie designs are pretty good but the rest is trite, Tagliapietra hardly knows how to cut a dress, Jenni Kayne is execrable and inexcusable. I quite like Kimberley Ovitz, some gorgeous materials ~
